The
budget session that has just concluded exposed the BJP and
its allies in the NDA government at the Centre. Congress
members who played, as usual, an active role both in the
Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha pinned down the government
on a number of issues. The issues like the failure to pass
Women’s Reservation Bill are bound to figure in the programmes
chalked out in detail as a follow-up action to the decisions
taken at the National Convention of District and Block Congress
Presidents in New Delhi. The programme which includes Kranti
padayatras, seminars and rallies will be held from 9th to
15th August allover the country. Besides carrying the Delhi
Convention message to the masses and exposing the BJP, the
Kranti padayatras will also energise the party cadre for
the forthcoming Assembly elections in Rajasthan, Madhya
Pradesh, Delhi and Chhattisgarh. Smt. Sonia Gandhi has already
taken the initiative by addressing as many as six public
meetings in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, and slated to
address many more.
